Code of conduct
SPARK project strives to create a space where each participant can feel safe and be included. To promote safety and inclusion, in the work we do we ask participants to agree to our Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is as follows: Respect – We ask that participants respect all those who take part in our events and workshops. This means that whilst we don’t all need to agree with one another, we do have to make sure that we are being kind and respectful of one another. If we feel that a participant isn’t acting in a respectful way when communicating with other participants we may ask them to not attend the remainder of the workshop. Safe Space – Our workshops aim to create a safe space for our communities to meet and connect with one another. If our team feels that a participant's behaviour presents a risk to the safety of the group or our team, we may be forced to ask the participant to leave and not return to the service. Couples: attendance – We run a range of different workshops/forums throughout the year that is focused on supporting couples in a range of areas. However, for workshops, unless stated otherwise, we ask couples to attend separate groups. This helps us with managing the group dynamics. Sober Space – ACON’s peer education spaces are sober spaces. Please avoid attending whilst under the influence of alcohol or other drugs as we may need to ask you to leave. Confidentiality and Privacy – Please make sure that you respect the confidentiality of the participants in this space. This means that anything said within the space should be kept inside the space, and not be shared to people outside the space without the other participants’ permission. Please also be mindful that not everyone in our workshops wants to stay connected outside of space. Please respect each other’s right to anonymity outside of the workshop. Help is here if you need it – If you have any concerns or issues that you need support with please contact the project officer for your workshop. This includes any complaints or concerns about the workshops/forums. Our team can also get you connected to any of ACON’s other programs, should you need further support such as our counselling team or our other community health teams. Thanks for helping us to make our work safe and inclusive, we look forward to seeing you soon! 😀
